UPDATE: FaTMAN service issues - Kirkcaldy Campus
The School of Nursing & Midwifery's Kirkcaldy Campus and Carnegie and Adam Smith Colleges will be without a network connection between 10am and 2pm today (Monday 23 January 2012). This will affect data networking, IP Telephony and WiFi at these sites.

During this four hour outage our Network Service Provider will have access to the Tay Rail Bridge to repair the damaged cables that are disrupting the FaTMAN network connections in Fife. They were unable to complete repairs during the weekend and Network Rail have designated this time slot for additional work.

We apologise for the further disruption and short notice but were only recently notified by the Network Service Provider.
Thank you for your patience.

FaTMAN service issues - Kirkcaldy Campus
We are currently without links to the Kirkcaldy Campus and have only a single FaTMAN link to St Andrews. The School of Nursing & Midwifery at the Kirkcaldy Campus have no network connection (affecting data networking, IP Telephony and WiFi), and the FaTMAN links to Carnegie and Adam Smith Colleges are also down.

Our Network Service Provider is treating this as a high-level major incident. The network links have failed due to cables on the Tay Rail Bridge being damaged. Engineers will survey the damage and propose repair solutions this evening, when they are allowed access to the rail bridge for a limited time. We currently cannot determine how long the service disruption will last but expect an update from our Service Provider in the morning.

Thank you for your patience.

***************************************************

We are currently aware that there are connectivity issues via FaTMAN to and from our Kirkcaldy campus. This will affect all network and telephone services on the Kirkcaldy campus. We are in discussion with our Network Circuit providers to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time
